Bang A Gong.

Bang A Gong for

our Star Champion Who Had Balls

The day began !! This morning our jump-start “salute”-er leaped atop the bed. Greetings !! Welcome to this day guys !! The stretched out affectionate bitty accompanied us along with our tea. Next, he surrenders each time to pill-taking by predictably going into full bore upside down bitty mode. The position began by, first, curling the head in, followed by the rest of the body. The upside down head would always lead. Oh & that big belly would be so exposed and ready for tickles. I pick him up and see his I really don’t like this stoic face. I gaze at him for a longer while this morning and am filled with love. We pop all his pills. In a flash he was off and running. He had some serious scurrying and darting dashing around to do today Zip. Zap. Zoom. From room to room.

He was so energetic. A joyful full of life bitty MoJo. He sat upon the sill in the glorious sunshine. The beauty of the moment captured me as I, on impulse, walked over to just give him a big squeeze hug. He seemed to be aglow. He opted later to settle in on Joe’s lap because he advises Joe with his computer coding. One could hear the loud rumble of contented purring from across the room after his work concluded. The MoJO bitty was so happy in his space and place in his home with his best buds.

Now, at age two, he had completely matured and grown into an adult cat. He had become who he was. Today felt as if almost a new beginning by his exuberant full of life, enthusiasm, and overwhelming explosive goofiness. MoJo was ignited and on fire. He was on a happiness mission it seemed, of spreading “Joy To The World.” We noticed his vigor, vitality, sparkle, energy, gaiety, and euphoria. I would have to say he emitted ecstatic elation.

At one point all 3 of us ended up outside on the front deck. The bitty went exploring.

First, he sat atop the plastic septic lid circle which we have labeled the “beam me up Scotty” spot. Bitty’s nose was straight up to the sky as he sniff the air. He turn, looking, searching for us, as we sat further away by the house. He held our gazes for a long long while. All our eyes locked, each quietly observing the other from a distance afar for a long while, absorbing, taking it All in. This is just what he needs, all this stimulus, we commented. Bitty’s head almost spun off his shoulders as he look in all directions capturing all the sights and smells. He was in his element & radiated pure delight. He charged, crouching low to the ground, hunting down a big old bug.

We made lunch. Heard a thud. I found bitty at the base of the stairs. Our MoJo bitty limp with black marble eyes. Helplessly we call the vet emergency and described the situation. The puzzle pieces fit into place. Blood clot in back legs. Legs failed. The last final claw of his congestive heart failure disease had clamped down today at precisely noon. The shock of the MoJo-ness leaving so abruptly was harsh. A nano-second flip of a switch.

On / full sparkling bright. Click Off / lost empty pitch-darkness.

When bitty was given his 6-12 month life expectancy aperture, we accepted. We had no choice. From that day forward, because of the took two people to hold him and give him 7 pills twice daily care administered and the routines of our day-to-day habits, besides the antics & play, we bonded together and powerfully strengthened…along with the bitty’s health & comfort levels. He strongly responded to the care. So much so, that we wanted to believe that MoJo would survive, and outlive the death sentence he was handed in his birthday deck of cards. He had continuously exhibited super magical super powers time & again since adoption. And, we had agreed, upon reflection, that the name chosen for this little Being on That day, was precisely perfect.

Sharing these past 9 months together were the greatest days of our lives together. We learned so much from his all-accepting example, his trust, his loyalty, his goofy habits, his play strategies, and esp. how he adapted to circumstances.  Recalling his showmanship as he made his grand entrance explosion and bravado leap time & again through the door curtains is seared in my heart and radiates his ever lasting joy ahd personality. Joe & I would not have changed a single day. To have experienced his very last day together, as we did, was excruciating hard, yet also, auspiciously fortunate. We were able to witness a Being who made a jump-shot to the hoop that was nothing but net, knocked the ball out of the park, make a home run, scored a touchdown, graduate from college with honors, and surrender to the fates all within a matter of a few mere moments. This brilliant Being, was in his prime, at his most dynamically vital, & he exited like a shooting Star champion heading towards only further greatness….

Well done MoJo Bitty. With mallet in hand, we appropriately struck our giant full-sized floor-standing gong in his honor at his funeral. Even tho the bitty did not like loud sounds, we banged the gong to alert his future buds that this bigger than life, this sweetheart tough-guy the Little Big Bitty MoJo, was on his way.
